Like many women, I have children in Eretz Yisroel. My heart is heavy with the pain and troubles going on there. I am constantly checking the news for updates and calling my kids to check on them. Sometimes I am tempted to check many sites for more information, but I’m not even sure where to look for the most up-to-date information.

One day, I started to type in a secular news site online, and I stopped myself. That is a slippery slope. You never know what inappropriate content you will be exposed to on a secular news site, so I usually avoid looking there. It felt good to control my choices online. I decided that as a zechus for my children in Eretz Yisroel, I would be careful to only follow frum news sites for updates and avoid the secular ones.
